Specialising in Ladies Artistic Gymnastics
Nadia Gymnastics Club is affiliated to Gymnastics Ireland which offers a broad developmental competition structure through which all gymnasts have the opportunity to progress.
Children that show a natural flair for gymnastics are identified and invited to trial for competition squads.
Pre-competition squad: Gymnasts follow a body preparation programme developing: flexibility, strength, speed, agility and coordination. The gymnasts develop a wide range of fundamental motor skills in a fun and challenging environment.
Basic competition squad: Gymnasts continue to develop their physical fitness and are introduced to basic skills on each apparatus. Gymnasts will be introduced to competition within the club as they achieve the required skills and then to national competition at the appropriate level.
The focus of competition is on consistent personal performance at the appropriate level resulting in a positive experience improving confidence and self esteem.
Intermediate competition squad: Gymnasts will be grouped according to ability and focus on consolidating and refining core skills, developing new skills and maintaining physical condition.
Gymnasts will continue to progress through the competition level structure at their own pace.
Elite competition squad: Gymnasts showing exceptional talent are offered this training option.
At this stage gymnasts are passionate about gymnastics and have chosen to specialise in their sport, they show commitment in their training and are focused on achieving an elite standard.
Gymnast will be aiming for national squad selection and International competition.
Competition squads follow all year round training programmes, the summer training schedule which runs through July and August is flexible taking account of the holiday season.
