Nadia Elena Comăneci is a Romanian gymnast and the winner of 3 Olympic Gold Medals at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.
Nadia was the first Romanian gymnast to win the All-Around title at the Olympics and is the youngest ever All-Around champion.
Nadia won her other gold medals for her apparatus performances on Bars and Beam.
Her team was placed silver in the team event and she also received a bronze medal for her performance on the floor apparatus.

Nadia Comăneci was the first gymnast ever to be awarded a perfect score of 10.0 in an Olympic gymnastic event.
The scoreboards were not even equipped to display scores of 10.0
Nadia’s perfect marks were recorded on the boards as 1.00 instead.
Nadia Comăneci was my inspiration. Her performance at the Montreal Olympic Games captured my heart.
I named my club after her in recognition of her great contribution to Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
